Beginning later this month, Doheny Memorial Library, the Science & Engineering Library, and VKC Library will remain open until 8:00 p.m. on Friday evenings. After the three libraries close, patrons may visit Leavey Library for their late-night study and research needs. Leavey Library serves the USC community 24 hours a day during the week, closing only from 12:00 midnight to 9:00 a.m. early Sunday morning. Effective January 3, 2012, the USC Libraries' Interlibrary Loan (ILL) circulation service will be moving to Leavey Library's circulation desk from its current location in Doheny Library. Through the libraries' ILL service, USC students, faculty, and staff can request books and other circulating materials from other lending libraries. With the move to Leavey Library, patrons will now have 24-hour access to ILL materials, and Integrated Document Delivery staff will be available to provide immediate support or reference help.
Leavey Library's 35 collaborative study rooms can now be reserved online. Part of the USC Libraries' continuing efforts to serve the study space needs of the USC community, the new LibCal service allows anyone with a usc.edu e-mail address to quickly see which rooms are available and book a room for up to two hours per day. The USC Libraries are seeking students' input on how to design Leavey Library's spaces, resources, and services to best meet the academic needs of the USC community. Undergraduate students are invited to attend the first session, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and graduate students the second session from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Both meetings will be held in Learning Room A on the ground floor of Leavey Library.
