University Archives Exhibit Honors Late Composer, USC Professor Ingolf Dahl

A new exhibition of materials from the USC University Archives honors the late composer, conductor, and USC professor Ingolf Dahl on the 100th anniversary of his birth. Located on the second floor of Doheny Memorial Library at the entrance to Special Collections, the exhibit includes photographs, concert programs, handwritten scores, and other rare items from the USC University Archives' Ingolf Dahl Papers collection.

Dahl was born on June 9, 1912 in Germany. He moved to the United States in 1939 and settled in Los Angeles, joining a prominent community of German exiles and émigrés. Beginning in 1945, Dahl served on the faculty of the USC Thornton School of Music and taught there until his death in 1970.
